ConsenSys Releases “Blockchain Developer Job Kit” to Help Devs Enter the Blockchain Industry
Blockchain development firm, ConsenSys released “Blockchain Development Kit” – a guide to help aspiring Ethereum developers enter the growing blockchain job market.
This kit provides a variety of resources that can help hopefuls learn about the skills that it takes to become a blockchain developer. This includes knowledge checklists, a typical blockchain dev job description and links to where to begin your job search.
Data about prospective salaries, the growth in the blockchain job market, the percentage of organisations using blockchain technology and the number of cryptocurrency related job postings is also highlighted.
In terms of programming languages, Ethereum developers should be familiar with object-oriented programming. The kit recommends a coding repertoire of JavaScript, Python and Solidity. For backend ETH protocol development, the kit notes languages such as Go, Rust, Java, .NET, C++ and Ruby. The importance of having a solid understanding of cryptography is also noted.
Opinions on blockchain, distributed networks, and web3 are “rapidly changing” amongst software developers. Citing a survey conducted this year by Stack Overflow, 68% of web developers have a positive opinion on blockchain tech. with 29.2% seeing it as a “life changing” effect.
Back in 2017, ConsenSys launched an academy to help developers learn more about the blockchain ecosystem.
